    Prefer to stay on campus and develop research skills? Professors will offer a variety of mini-projects. Team up, get creative, and dive into real research topics — perfect for building your portfolio and forming lasting academic connections.

Tentative Schedule of the Workshop

Day 1 – Kickoff & Inspiration

  • Opening & Welcome
  • Introduction to CUHK and the Earth & Environmental Sciences (EES) Department
  • Research and Postgraduate Opportunities
  • Sharing from Current Postgraduates
  • Guided campus and museum tour
  • Meet-the-Professors session: Explore mini-project topics and fieldtrip options

Day 2 – Academic Exploration

  • Research seminars by EES professors
  • Poster session & networking
  • Informal chats with professors and students
  • Mini-project team formation & planning

Day 3 & 4 – Choose Your Adventure!

  • Option 1: Field Trips to Hong Kong’s unique environments (volcanoes, observatory, wetlands, city tour)
  • Option 2: Mini-Project research with professors on cutting-edge topics
  • Social and cultural experiences

Day 5 – Wrap-Up & Future Steps
