PhD Student YU Zheng Awarded the Outstanding Student Presentation Award (OSPA) at the 2nd GEOS-Chem Asia Meeting (GCA2)
YU Zheng (right in the photo), a postgraduate student from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences under the supervision of Professor ZHAI Shixian (left in the photo), was awarded the Outstanding Student Presentation Award (OSPA) at the 2nd GEOS-Chem Asia Meeting (GCA2) on May 21, 2025. GCA2 was held at Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology (NUIST) from May 19-21, 2025, with 263 participants from 55 institutions and 8 countries. The scope of GCA2 encompasses all topics related to atmospheric composition and air quality.
YU Zheng’s research investigates the relationship between aerosol optical depth (AOD) and fine particulate matter (PM2.5) in the rapidly changing environment of China. This work is significant for estimating historical long-term surface PM2.5 using satellite AOD and understanding the evolving atmospheric chemistry environment in China.
