From Programmes (ESSC & ENSC) to Department
The two undergraduate programmes in CUHK, the Earth System Science Programme (ESSC) and the Environmental Science Programme (ENSC), merged in 2022 and became Earth and Environmental Sciences Programme (EESC). The courses from both programmes remain in the newly established programme. The merger allows students to broaden their knowledge from both areas while taking major courses. In August 2024, the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences (EES) was established.
